[S23] TROVE, Examiner (Launceston, Tas. : 1900 - 1954) Fri 30 Jun 1939, HAGLEY FUNERAL.-There was a large and representative attendance at the funeral at Hagley of Miss Annie Badcock, whose death occurred at her home on Monday night. The remains were interred in the Hagley Methodist Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon. Rev. F. F. Byatt, Westbury. conducted services at the church and at the graveside. The chief mourners were Messrs. Alan G. R.. and Leslie Badcock (brothers).Messrs. C. F., Henry, and J. C. Hall (brothers-in-law), and Messrs. Russell. Lindsay, and Layton Badcock (nephews). The carriers were Messrs. C. French, M. S. Richardson, and Russell and Layton Badcock. Mr. Byatt referred feelingly to Miss Badcock's many good aualities. The wreaths included those from the Hagley Red Cross Society, Hagley branch A.W.N.L.. Hagley branch C.W.A. and W.A.O.M., Hagley Methodist Church. Miss Badcock was the fourth daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Badcock, of Home Vale, Hagley, one of the pioneer families of the district. She had lived all her life in the Hagley district, and had a lifelong association with the Methodist Church, being at one time a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the choir and of the Women's Auxiliary for Overseas Missions until her death. She had also been connected with the Hagley Red Cross Society, Hagley branch A.W.N.L.. and the Hagley branch of the C.W.A.
