- [S23] TROVE, Launceston Examiner 14 June 1939, EVENING WEDDING AT ST. PAULS The marriage of Clarice Isobel [sic], eldest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. C. J. Reid, of Launceston, to Rhonsley Percival, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. P. Brown, was solemnised at St. Paul's Church, Launceston, on Saturday evening, June 3, by Rev. Williams. The bride, who entered the church with her eldest brother, looked very picturesque in her magnolia satin gown, styled on Empire lines. The train was lined with the palest of shell pink, georgette, and this colour was repeated in the roses which adorned her hair. The billowing masses of magnolia tulle which formed the veil enhanced the severe lines of the bride's gown. Her cascade bouquet of spring flowers and pale pink carnations was made by Mrs. Cordell. The bride was attended by her sisters, the Misses Nance and Kath Reid, who chose taffeta frocks of blending apricot shades and carried baskets of golden chrysanthemums. The unusual pleated tulle shoulder-length veils were attached with more golden chrysanthemums. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. W. Bewglass as best man and Mr. K. Krushka as groomsman. The bride's mother wore a frock of black lace with a knee-length fur coat and carried a posy of crimson carnations. The bridegroom's mother was dressed in a becoming black costume with lace jabot, and carried a posy of scarlet flowers. During the signing of the register Miss Kath Reid rendered "My Prayer," accompanied by Miss Hogg. After the ceremony forty guests were entertained at the Lounge, Brisbane-street. The two-tiered wedding cake was made by the bride's aunt, Mrs. W. Badenach. When the bride left for her honeymoon, which is being spent at Coles Bay, she wore a teal blue frock and hat, with a tan coat. The future home of Mr. and Mrs. Brown is at King's Meadows.
