The deceased, who was 58 [sic] years of age, had lived all his life in the St. Paul's and surrounding district, and was a farmer in a small way. He lived alone at the time of his death, and was last seen alive on Wednesday night apparently in good health. He was highly respected by all who knew him, although of a retiring disposition, and his death came as a great shock to his friends. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon, and a good number of people paid their last respects to the deceased gentleman. The Rev. J. Taylor officiated at the church and the graveside. He leaves one daughter, Mrs Minnett, of Glenorchy to mourn his loss, his wife having pre-deceased him by many years.
