Stealing from a Dwelling - John, Margaret, and Mary Swaswick [sic] were placed in the dock, on remand from the previous day, charged with stealing from the dwelling of Mr Lewis, and the elder female prisoner, with shoplifting in the store of Mr Withers. Mr Young said he was instructed to appear for the prisoners, but the Bench ruled that the case could not be re-opened, as the prisoners were merely brought up tor judgement. His Worship said that it was quite evident that the child had been taught to steal by her patents, they would therefore send them for trial. The girl would be fined £3 or one month's imprisonment ; in the second case, Mary Swasbrick was sentenced to imprisonment for six months.
